Although everything works fine after I click X to close the box, I’d just like to find out if I can do something about it, at least stop it from showing after every booting. After booting there’s always this error box on the desktop “Display Manager fail Intel: CLSIDFromProgID”. Specifically after I installed the Easy Display Manager (Vista) from Samsung. While I have quite sorted out my NC10, I do have a problem with my Q1U with Windows 7. Well I tried to change the system date to one year in advance and the OS still worked after reboot, but really I’m not sure if the OS have another kind of time counter, you know maybe the count is physical like in a car’s kilometer reading, I guess I’ll just keep my finger crossed.Īnyway post if you have a problem, and Iots in the forum are just glad to help

who knows when, if the patch really work. I installed some patches hoping to address this issue but I guess we’ll have to wait after thirty days, sixty days. In my opinion the beta version is better than XP/Vista, and our concern now is the limited time.
I’m not realy excited by using a beta version of 7, especialy because it’s limited in time but… whatever… i will give it a try ! Why don’t you try the tweaked Vista, which is Windows 7. I don’t know if you notice that feeling when you compare it with an XP running another unit, even on a regular desktop. That in my opinion is what the XP ULCPC is all about, a tweaked XP at least. These tweaks (gathered from various posts like this) are mostly to remove unnecessary services, in the belief that a lean OS (with CPU and memory unburdened with some removed tasks) will respond a little bit faster.

I have Windows 7 on my NC10 now, but when I used to have the XP ULCPC at the beginning, I noticed that whenever I try to apply some tweaks using REGEDIT, I find out that most tweaks I would like to do have already been implemented.

What special features for netbook can we find on this edition of XP ? ’cause i would like to install (at least) a windows XP pro, but maybe it will be less effective than this special edition… i don’t know. Our gorgeous NC10 come with a “Windows XP Home Edition for Ultra Low Costs PCs SP3” ( dixit my recovery CD-ROM).
